The Refuge wishes to thank the Panorama Wine Bar for holding its “Friday Night Flights,” evenings of wine every Friday, this past June for the benefit of the Refuge's full range of programs and services.
We are fortunate to have wonderful sponsors like the Panorama Wine Bar.
Once again the Refuge participated in the Annual Rittenhouse Square Flower Market.
We want to thank everyone who stopped by to meet us, purchased our flowers, participated in our raffle, and took time to see some of our animals.
We also appreciated all the adoption applications that you all filled out. Those who came by will be saving many animal lives.
On behalf of the board, staff, and volunteers, "Thanks for dropping by."
The Board, Staff, and Volunteers of the Refuge wish to thank everyone who attended the Fur Ball for their generous support of the Refuge and its important programs!

The Refuge wishes to thank NSL Associates for programming a major upgrade to our online Adoption Application system.
We continue to use SSL and other security methods to protect our applicants' privacy and information security. The upgrade continues the Refuge's efforts to continually assess and improve the already high level of security of our applicants' data.
The new system enables us to help our applicants through the application form via the help guide displayed for each entry on the application. This, in turn, will help us obtain more complete information from the applicant, which speeds up the approval process.
In the past, we've received many automated computer filled applications, each week, which are nothing more than spam, which wasted our personnel's time. The upgraded system utilizes the reCAPTCHA service which we expect will significantly reduce or eliminate this problem.
The Morris Animal Refuge kennel is approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and is inspected regularly by the Commonwealth. The Refuge meets or exceeds all Commonwealth requirements for housing animals.
All of the Morris Animal Refuge's adoption policies and guidelines are derived directly from guidelines prescribed by The Humane Society of the United States.

Due to essential security reasons, and functionality problems, our website, morrisanimalrefuge.org no longer supports the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer® 6 (IE6).
Like many other websites across the globe, with so many newer, more secure, and superior functioning web browsers, we can no longer justify the use of IE6, which was released 9 years ago, and has been superceded twice by Microsoft with IE7 and now IE8.
Our Adoption Application Form, and Donation Form collect considerable personal and private information from our adopters and supporters. We owe it to everyone to do our utmost to keep their information as private and secure as possible, hence our decision.
We have completely redesigned our forms to the highest security standards available today, and we now employ "Recaptcha" anti-spam programming to mitigate the serious spam problem of computer filled forms which have been plaguing us the last two years.
If you're still using IE6 in your computer, we strongly suggest you upgrade to at least IE7, or preferably IE8 to eliminate the serious security risks to your computer, and your privacy, every time you browse the web with it. To put it bluntly, you are putting your personal and private information at risk every time you use IE6.
MorrisAnimalRefuge.org supports a wide variety of browsers including: Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+ (IE7), Mozilla Firefox 3.0+, Google Chrome 4.0+ and Safari 3.0+
The Morris Animal Refuge offers innovative and high quality care for cats, dogs and other small animals. The Refuge provides a full range of preventive, protective and adoption services for abused, neglected and abandoned animals. You can make a direct, and immediate impact on the lives of one of these animals by "saving a life today", through a generous online donation to the Refuge.
The Morris Animal Refuge adoption services cover the Greater Philadelphia Pennsylvania Region only; consisting of an area in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
In more than 135 years, no animal has ever been turned away from our door.
The Refuge, the first in the United States to care for cats, was founded by Elizabeth Morris, one of our nation's pioneers in animal welfare, in 1874. The Refuge continues to operate today in Center City Philadelphia at its home at 1242 Lombard Street.
The Refuge is run by a small and dedicated staff whose primary responsibilities include animal care, adoptions and humane education. Our volunteers provide many hours of additional support with all phases of animal care and fund raising.
The Morris Animal Refuge is a nonprofit organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service under their code, section 501(c)(3). The refuge is dependent on the community's tax-deductible contributions to provide a second chance for these deserving animals.
The Morris Animal Refuge and Petsmart are adoption partners at the South Philadelphia Petsmart Store.
There are always dangers in and around our homes throughout the year which might seriously affect our animal friends.
We've added two new features to our web site to help you identify potential problems for your animal friends at home.
We now have a Household Danger list pointing out some of the many dangers to animals commonly found inside and outside our homes.
We also have added a Poisonous Plant list to our site, listing many of the most common plants found in and around the house which could poison your animal friends.
Links to both of these lists can be found on our News page.
Our Web site has been created, maintained and generously donated by NSL Associates Incorporated, the Greater Philadelphia Region's premier Internet site designer and manager.
