NO SUNDAY SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 28: There will be no Sunday school for children or adults on November 28 after Thanksgiving. Regular Sunday school will resume on Dec. 5 at 9:45 AM.
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY DISCUSSION that was referenced during the informal congregational meeting on the evening of 9/19/2010 can be downloaded from http://www.barkerproductions.net/shop.asp?action=details&inventoryID=183825&catId=20526. There is currently a charge of $2 for this download (payable to Barker Productions, not Oakwood). We are investigating the possibility of obtaining redistribution rights for this audio file and are hopeful that we will be able to post this download free of charge in the future. Also, you can download Tim Keller's paper "What's so great about the PCA" from http://www.pcaac.org/2010GeneralAssembly/WhyILikePCA-Tim%20Keller.pdf free of charge.

THE OAKWOOD CHRISTMAS PAGEANT will be held on Sunday evening, December 19 at 6:00 PM in place of the evening service. Please mark your calendars and join us for this celebration of the season. Contact Denise Rupert, 231-0485, Denise_Rupert@yahoo.com if your child/children would like to participate or if you have any questions.
CARL AND NANCY DERK SAY A HEARTY THANK YOU to those folks who came to our house this past Saturday and raked leaves and generally cleaned our yard, pulling weeds and dried plants. It looks beautiful and we are most appreciative. Thank you and God bless you for all your labors.
SUNDAY EVENING WORSHIP AT 6:00 PM: Join us this Sunday evening at 6:00 PM for a time of singing and worship. Rev. St. John will teach on Romans 8:1-2 using the Heidelberg Catechism Question 56.
OAKWOOD MEN'S MINISTRY: Join us for a time of prayer, study, and fellowship every Tuesday morning from 6:30 to 7:30 AM in the Oakwood fellowship hall. On November 30th, we will begin a four-week study focusing on idolatry. Coffee and a light breakfast will be served. Bring your Bible, and bring a friend! If you have any questions, contact Jeremy Amaismeier, amaismeierj@gmail.com or Mark Read mrr180@psu.edu.
ART SUPPLIES FOR CAMPUS MINISTRY: Making art can be a process of looking for and interacting with truth. Dana Ray plans to have gatherings for artists over the course of the next two semesters to make and discuss art with those within and without the Christian community. Artists will be asked to create art in response to a theme/quote/question/etc., after which we will discuss what we see happening in each work. To do this, we need art supplies and thus your help! Any art supplies are welcome: paper, pens, markers, paint, scissors, glue, tissue paper, paint brushes, etc. Bring anything you would like to donate to the collection basket in the narthex through the end of November. Thank you for your donations. Questions? Contact Ann Johnstonbaugh, 234-2240.
OH BOY! IT'S A BOY! Please join us for a baby shower honoring Meagan Dzienis as she and Nick prepare for the arrival of their sweet baby boy! Tuesday, November 30th at 7:00 PM at the Watlington home, 116 Boalsburg Road, Lemont. Dessert will be served. If you would like to contribute to the group gift, please contact Becki Watlington (814-861-3663 or becki_Ballard@hotmail.com).
NO COFFEE FELLOWSHIP THIS SUNDAY: Coffee Fellowship will resume after arrangements can be made to accommodate the new service schedule. If you have questions or would like to help in this ministry, please contact Tim Johnson, tpj1@psu.edu or 234-9764.
THE LAST INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DINNER FOR THE SEMESTER will be December 3rd. The menu will be quiche, salad and dessert. Please consider donating one or two of your family's favorite quiches! We have been serving dinner to 70-80 students, which translates to 12-15 quiches, including requests for second helpings. Please have your cooked quiche to the church kitchen by 5:00 PM on Friday, Dec. 3rd. Please let Christy Martsolf (482-0791) know by Nov. 28th if you are able to help with food. As always, we need individuals to come with us to the Pasquerilla Center to serve the meal and spend time with students. The meal begins at 6:15 and is usually over by 7:30. We serve alongside ICF (International Christian Fellowship), a well-established ministry on PSU campus, which ministers to international students by providing a meal and spending an evening with them. Please contact Christy Martsolf (482-0791) if you have any questions.
FAREWELL DINNER FOR THE ST. JOHNS: Oakwood will host a farewell dinner for the St. John family on Sunday, December 5, after the Blended worship service. UNDERGRAD FINALS SNACK BAGS TO BE PACKED: Undergrad finals are approaching! The undergrads need our help by way of nutritious and energizing snacks as they prepare for exams. This is an easy and very helpful way to serve our college students. Please bring snacks to be divided among 35 undergrads on Sunday, December 12. The bags will be packed that morning and distributed after the second service. Need ideas? Single serving bags of pretzels, crackers, granola bars, dried fruits, nuts, apples, pears, vitamin C packs, baked goods, etc. Call Allie Fitzgerald, 861-2015, if you have questions. Thanks for your contributions.
