Building Consultants, Inc. (BCI) is a consulting firm specializing in Home and Building Inspections, Structural Engineering, and other consulting services related to residential and commercial buildings. BCI is located in the Lansdale-Montgomeryville area of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Our primary service area consists of most of Mongomery County, most of Bucks County, and parts of Philadelphia. Work is sometimes performed in other parts of Pennsylvania.

There are many potential safety hazards in the home. Windows, doors and other components that contain glass account for well over 100,000 reported injuries every year. Falling from open windows is a significant cause of injury for children. Cuts, often severe, are also a cause of injury to adults and children.

To reduce the chance of severe injury from broken glass, standards have been developed requiring safety glass, or tempered glass in household components such as bathtub and shower doors, sliding glass doors, storm doors, windows adjacent to bathtubs or shower, and certain other glass components. These standards have been enacted over a period of many years. There is a chance that some components in a home may not have safety glass. This is especially true in older homes.
