What is the DuraSeal Treatment?
The DuraSeal Treatment Includes: Sealing with Federally specified coal tar emulsion, containing 4-5 lbs. of sand aggregate per gallon. All surfaces will be machine cleaned, free of debris. We will trim all grass perimeters and remove all weeds. We will pretreat all gas and oil spots to insure proper bonding. Your new DuraSeal treatment will provide a non-skid safety surface.

Sealing is NOT a substitute for repairs to damaged surfaces. It can, however, prolong the life of weathered surfaces, and prevent good surfaces from becoming damaged as described below.

What Ages Your Driveway?
Chemicals accelerate the natural oxidation process. Gasoline, oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze and other fluids that leak from automobiles will dissolve the asphaltic binder. Water, which penetrates the pavement, stresses the asphalt and propagates cracks. The sun's ultraviolet rays and heat will bake blacktop until it’s brittle and cracks. Heavy traffic can cause surface to crack also.

What Can Sealing Do?Sealing with a Coal-tar emulsion, which is not dissolved by petroleum products, can protect the pavement from all of these destructive factors. The natural elastic characteristics of your pavement are sealed in, while the damaging factors are sealed out.

Not all asphalt sealants meet federal government standards for protection. Some won't even protect against gas and oil penetration, one major cause of surface deterioration. Many commercial and do-it-yourself products contain as little as 17% tar solids while federal specs call for at least 47%! At DuraSeal we use a special coal tar emulsion that gives the widest range of protection. It's an advanced, water-based sealant that meets or exceeds all federal specifications. We also add aggregate to our mixture to produce a non-skid safety surface. We go even further than the government requires.

DuraSeal starts with a coal-tar emulsion that meets or exceeds Federal Specification RP-355d. It is then combined with an enhancer patented by DuraSeal, and with fine aggregate to yield a skid resistant surface. The resulting fortified emulsion is squeegeed or sprayed under pressure, resulting in a smooth, black, protective wear surface that seals in binder strength and flexibility.

Our Guarantee To You
When sealing is applied to structurally sound pavement, we guarantee the materials and workmanship for a full year. Typically, you can expect the sealer to last two to four years, depending on pavement condition and the use it receives.
