I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. 2He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. 3You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. 4Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:1-5
From where do you draw strength and sustenance? Is good health enougheating right, exercising, living a good life, or is there a deeper source of life, strength, endurance, peace, and love? Christ says, I am the vinethose who are connected, who draw life from my life, who walk with me, who abide with mebear much fruit, produce, thrive, grow, and give. We thrive as ones connected to the life line of God in Christ the vine. Certainly there are things we can accomplish, talents, intellect, and strengths we have in our being, yet these too are gifts from God.
There is such a cleansing in the forgiveness and grace of God, such a depth of being that, at the end of the day, if we have lived only for this life, for these moments in time, we are most to be pitied. We should embrace the day, live fully, engage life and relationships, engage community and the world around usbut our hope is beyond only thisour hope is in the fullness of Gods love for us in Jesus, an eternal hope and promise of life in the vine.
We stand together in our mission to offer meaningful opportunities to engage life, religious values, and the depth of faith throughout lifes journey and across all ages, so that we might
Grow in Faith.
We stand with those in need and work alongside each other in witness to Christ and to the transformation of life in the power of God, so that we might
Give in Service.
With constant evaluation of ministries and a dynamic environment, we strive together as people joined in the vine of Christ to show forth the light of God and the joy and hope to which we have been called.
