Southwest Regional Medical Center, located in Waynesburg, PA, is a community-based 77-bed hospital. Southwest Regional Medical Center provides 24-hour emergency services, ER EXPRESS CARE, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, cardiology and home health services. Southwest Regional was accredited and received the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission on June 1, 2009. The hospital recently dedicated a newly renovated Surgical Services Center on the fifth floor, which boasts orthopedic, general, urological, gynecological, ENTand ophthalmological services.
Founded in 1907, Essent Healthcare purchased the facility on October 12, 2005. Since then, the hospital has added new doctors, technology and services to benefit Greene County residents.

Southwest Regional Medical Center is located in Greene County, PA, in the southwest corner of the state. The county seat of Waynesburg is conveniently situated an hour south of Pittsburgh, 30 minutes north of Morgantown, W.Va., and is within an hour of the Ohio state line. The area is 89 percent rural, with about 41,000 residents and covers 579 square miles, including 20 townships, six boroughs and five school districts. The county employs a full-time police force and houses inmates at a state correctional facility and county prison. Waynesburg University sits at the center of the county with an enrollment of about 1,500 students. Greene County is home to a plethora of annual fairs, some dating back to the 1800s – including the Jacktown Fair. The county is also home to Rain Day, the Sheep and Fiber Festival, and the King Coal Festival. The rural area provides ample opportunities for hunting and fishing, as well as scenic sightseeing.
