Dear Friends in Christ.
To be a Christian is to engage in a lifelong journey, a passage of exploration and seeking, of serving and learning, and perhaps most of all: it is an adventure of transformation. To follow Christ is to continually grow closer to God and each other in loving relationship.
We live in a world today where divisions between people are all too easy. War and violence lead us to fear others. Differences of philosophies, politics, races, and lifestyles nurture schisms between us. It is all too easy to draw apart from one another in our culture. Yet living separated is not good for us, and leads us to dwell in something less than wholeness and joy. God has a better way. At Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville we seek to become all that we are capable of becoming in Christ.
Our several weekly worship services strive to lead us toward BELIEVING in the Good News of God's grace and forgiveness that comes to us through Jesus Christ our Savior by our Lord's love for us. Our many ministry programs nurture us in BELONGING to a community of caring where we are supported and treasured as children of God. All the sermons in the world cannot replace the kind word spoken in a time of hurting, the gentle hug, or the phone call of casserole or whatever it takes to assure a person going through a difficult time that they are not alone, that they are surrounded by a family of faith who truly cares about them. And once engaged in our family of faith, all of us continue our journeys to BECOME all that we may be in Christ. Through classes, seminars, small groups and other opportunities for spiritual growth at Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in our transformational experience.
The fabric of our congregation today is the same as it has been for 150 years. It is the love of God experienced and shared. We welcome you to join us in our journey of faith, and to come and grow with us in Christ.
Yours in Christ,
