Firm Again Presented With Top Surveying Awards
J. Michael Brill & Associates, Inc. again took top honors at the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors' Annual Conference held in Hershey, PA January 24-27, 2010. This year, J. Michael Brill & Associates, Inc. earned four First Place Awards and three Second Place Awards. The First Place Awards included a Color ALTA Survey, a Color Specialty Survey, a Black and White Topographic Survey, and a Black and White Specialty Survey. Second Place categories included a Black and White ALTA Survey, Black and White Subdivision Plan, and Color Topographic Survey.
Giant Food Stores Opens Largest in Chain
Giant Food Stores opened the doors to its new 97,700 square foot Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, location on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 8 a.m. Giant's newest store is the largest in the grocery chain and its third Super store. The store is located within the Blue Mountain Commons Shopping Plaza at 2300 Linglestown Road, Susquehanna Township in which J. Michael Brill & Associates provided the site engineering.
Firm Wins Canstruction Competition Award
J. Michael Brill & Associates' Canstruction entry into the 3rd Annual Central Pennsylvania Canstruction competition tied for second place for their Beaver Stadium sculpture made from 2,736 cans of Giant Food Stores brand potatoes, butter & green beans, chick & green peas, tuna and chunky chicken noodle soup. Architects, engineers, contractors and students comprise competing teams who design and build structures made entirely from canned goods and structural ingenuity.
All cans that are used to build the structures are donated to local food banks and pantries of Central Pennsylvania. The results of this year's competition yielded approximately 30,000 cans of food donated to Project S.H.A.R.E. who will distribute them to 216 pantries across Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster, York and Lycoming counties. Terri DiBacco of our staff again chaired this regional community service event.

Three First Place Awards were presented for Color Topographic Survey, Specialty Presentation and Color Specialty Presentation. An ALTA/ACSM Survey received Second Place and a Topographic Survey and Subdivsion Plat each received a Third Place Award.
