Mount Calvary is a community of Episcopalians here on the West Shore of the Susquehanna River. There is just too much to say about a church to reduce it to a couple of paragraphs, so I will say simply that we are frequently understood as a bridge church between the Catholic and Protestant communities. A church is like a person. Theologically she is described as the Body of Christ. As Christ himself takes time to come to know, so a church deserves to be given the time necessary for someone to come to know her. I often say to new folks, if you think you might be interested in this church, come for six weeks in a row. At the end of that sort of commitment, you will know if this is a home for you at this point in your spiritual pilgrimage. If you decide right away, you may be being unfair to yourself and to the church for your reaction will be partly based on how you respond to new ideas and new things, not how this will wear on you. Give her a chance and you will know. It's just like coming to know a new and interesting person. There will be surprises and joys as you move more deeply into the relationship. Meanwhile, as a guest we invite you to share the Sacrament with us. We believe it is the Lord's Table. He invites you. In time you may well decide this is home and you want to step up and claim your rights and responsibilities as a 'card carrying' Episcopalian. That need not be your initial concern. You are welcome as you are because that is just how our Lord made you and that is the state in which He invites you to 'come unto me'. Maybe you will find Him among us. I hope so. Welcome
