WELCOME TO DRREBECCA.ORG
Rebecca G. Burdette M.D. is a Board Certified OB/GYN & Sex Therapist, who specializes in female sexual dysfunction. According to a recent survey, 68% of Americans are afraid of embarrassing their physicians by addressing their sexual concerns. Dr. Burdette has designed this site to help women address their sexual concerns, while they maintain their sexual health within the privacy of their home.
Most women experience some kind of sexual dysfunction at one time or another during their lifetime. Approximately 43% of female respondent’s in a recent U.S. survey revealed dissatisfaction with their sexual functioning. It is common for women to have sexual difficulties in their 20’s-30’s, during and after childbirth, during the premenopausal period, and after menopause. Of the four types of female sexual dysfunction, lack of desire for physical intimacy is the most common.

PERSONAL, AND ONE-ON-ONE.
As of April 2003, West Virginia was one of the nine states with malpractice premiums over $100,000 (at $182,600 per obstetrician) and on the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologist (ACOG) Red Alert list of states with a liability insurance crisis now threatening the availability of physicians to deliver babies. Likewise, according to a recently published ACOG study, 89 percent of the respondents said they have been sued at least once in their careers. The combination of these findings has caused an exodus of obstetricians and skyrocketing health-care costs. The malpractice crisis has not only driven up costs and dramatically affected our overall economy, but it has damaged the hearts and souls of the individuals in our profession. Tort reform would have a beneficial effect on all of these. This information is true. Additionally, the historical and medical data in this book is accurate. Certain aspects of the storyline are factual. For example, the first sickle cell-free designer babies were delivered in 2004 without their parent defective sickle cell gene. However, all of the characters in this novel are entirely fictitious.
