So, I turn 24 next year (senior year) and am eligible to file independent. How much aid will I get?
So, i understand once you turn 24 you can file as an independent. I will still be living with my parents though ( yes, i know. I’ll finish 2 years late, but alteast i’ll finish). I probably made like 10k at most this year (part-time). My tuition is about 2,500 every semester (small, state school). So, with that said how much will you think i’ll get? I’m hoping to get it all covered and excess to cover for books and travel expenses. I’m already about 6,000 deep in student loans. Don’t wanna go any deeper.
Thanks for any help
As long as you are turning 24 by January 1st, 2009, you can file as independent, even if you live with your parents. You will likely be eligible for Pell and other grants, based on the income you described.
