The "Original Running Company"Established in 1981 as a general~purpose athletic shoe and apparel store in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, the store was moved to Jenkintown's Baederwood Shopping Center. Founder, Bob Gamberg has shaped the business into a running specialty store, with a professional staff steeped in running, track & field and fitness experience. At our current location, 416 Old York Rd., we offer extensive parking, and we are easily accessible from Rt.611 (Old York Road), approximately 5 miles south of the PA Turnpike exit in Willow Grove, PA.
Aside from an extensive selection of running shoes and apparel, we are a primary source for track & field competition shoes and team apparel. Bob also outfits many area sports teams with uniforms and footwear. In support of our sport, we offer discounts to school athletes for footwear, as well as to participants in such activities as Team-In-Training events, the MS-3 Day Walk and Breast Cancer Society Run/Walk . As a compliment to our running equipment we also carry a selection of cross-training, tennis and casual shoes.
