Welcome to the The Riverton Hotel & Restaurant's web site.
In 1979, The Riverton was purchased by The Markopoulos Family. In 1984, the building was put through extensive
renovations and is the building that stands before you today. The addition included an upstairs banquet facility which seats
up to 300 people, and includes private lounge and bar, private restrooms, and a dance floor. The downstairs bar and
lounge were added. A private downstairs banquet room which seats up to 100 people was also added. In 2001 the front
dining rooms were remodel as well as our upstairs banquet.
In the early 1700's the Young family from Holland opened a small Inn where this building now stands. It consisted of a
few cottages. It was later sold and turned into a six room Inn. The building was then sold from one person to the next,
with each person adding a little more onto the existing building. It was eventually turned into a small bar and restaurant
with 13 hotel rooms.
Your hosts John and Christina bring over 50 years experience in the hospitality business. And with the addition of Culinary
Institute of America trained chef, George Markopoulos, we hope to serve you and your Family for many more years.
