Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Offers "Better Choices, Better Health"

The Chronic Disease Self- Management Program, also known as "Better Choices, Better Health," is up and running. Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week series of workshops for older adults with chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and high blood pressure. The workshops, which last for 2 ½ hours, focus on helping participants to develop skills and strategies for more effectively managing their chronic conditions.

After 20 Years with Ursuline, Garland Retires in June
On June 30, 2010 Ursuline Senior Services celebrated with cake, smiles and well wishes with Kathy Garland who, after 20 years with Ursuline, decided to embark on her journey to full retirement. Kathy had transitioned from executive secretary during the previous year to a part-time position in the Volunteer Programs area. Read More
Guardian Sister Dorothy Gourley Celebrates Silver Anniversary With Ursuline Senior Services
A significant milestone was reached in June by Sr. Dorothy Gourley, CSJ, when she celebrated her 25 year anniversary with Ursuline Senior Services. Sister Dorothy has been instrumental in providing for the health, welfare and safety of our guardianship wards for the past 25 years, starting at the then Ursuline Center, as our second guardian on June 4, 1985. In October 2008, the agency Executive Director Anthony Turo and Director of Volunteer Services Karen Miller Tobin were guests of the local CTV weekly talk show "A Nickols' Worth" and its host Dr. Mitchell Nickols. The venue afforded the opportunity to share the emerging needs facing more and more of our senior neighbors along with the good work that Ursuline is striving to expand and make more available every day to those we are here to serve.
