Service, Ceremony, Celebration
And we'll all stand together, and we'll Raise another Stone
to the Seventh Generation, and the Children Yet Unknown!
Wednesday Sept 1st
Fifteen years ago Four Quarters was founded as an experiment in growing functional cultural alternatives, firmly grounded in a spiritual and ecological perspective. A place where the many ways of Sharing in Community, Challenging Play and Knowing Spirit combine to create a rich, vibrant human tapestry.
We see ourselves as on the cutting edge of the Progressive, while still deeply Traditional. We strive to create safe space where individuals can explore their own spirituality within a new cultural context, while living by example the sustainable lifeways that must be the future of our planet. We derive our spiritual inspiration from nature, and seek to live within the physical limits of the Land, its
seasons and cycles.

2009 Wheel of the Year Desk Calendar We actively support the world's many traditions of Earth Spirituality by providing safe sanctuary in a beautiful natural setting, the Land being preserved in perpetuity by a bona fide nonprofit.
In these troubling times of climate change, resource-depletion and economic globalism; we see these ancient traditions as providing the best ethical guidance for the emerging Age of Limits that industrial society now faces. A voice of wisdom for the sustainable future we must now create.
As a Membership-based organization, our culture reflects the diversity of our Members and Visitors, who come from a broad demographic of all ages, incomes and backgrounds. We see parents and their children as our best hope for the future, supporting them while supporting the personal life-styles and choices of others. We actively cherish and encourage our diversity. We understand that change is a choice, and is always challenging. As a community we are defined not by what we exclude, but rather by what we include.
We who live here at Four Quarters are keenly aware of the emerging global predicament, the onset of the Age of Limits; and we see ourselves as a laboratory in miniature for the strategies and techniques that will lead towards a sustainable future. We raise much of our own food, and its preservation and storage is a large part of our own “Wheel of the Year.” We are committed to renewable and small scale energy systems; we heat with wood and practice passive design in our structures.
We do not pretend to offer “The Answer” but we try to ask good questions. Our purpose is to provide a tool kit for each individual to find their own message, and act upon it. The physical infrastructure of Four Quarters, the flavor of our shared ceremonies, and the content of our events are all created by the volunteered contributions, both physical and spiritual, of our Members. And it is within this “Answer,” that our community will be found.
At the Center of this Community is the Land and the Circle of Standing Stones: A place of beauty that remains a firm foundation through the rhythms of our lives.
We invite you to come join us... Ask a question, find an answer, as we stand together in the Center of the Circle.
"All of Life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality,
tied to a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly." - Martin Luther King Jr. -
