Aniela (Nellie) Scanlon, M.Ed., NCC, LPC
Aniela (Nellie) Scanlon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania. Nellie received her Master's in Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. She is also a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Nellie has over 9 years of experience counseling teens, adults, couples, and families.
Nellie uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques, which means the focus on how thoughts lead to feelings and feelings lead to certain behaviors or actions in a person. She creates a warm and safe environment by understanding that the counseling process is different for every individual.
Nellie believes that in order to make a change, the individual must first find hope. Then gain some understanding into his or her own situation. Eventually the individual discovers that change is possible.
Nellie formed Scanlon Counseling Services in February of 2008 and is currently located at 191 Howard Street, Suite 210 Franklin, PA 16323 and 1012 Water Street, Northwest Physicians Building 1 st Floor, Meadville, PA 16335.
