People always ask what should I look for in a wedding photographer? To better help people I have put together a list of things that I fell you should look for in a photographer. Whether you are looking for a family photographer or a wedding photographer.

First thing I tell people is find a full-time studio. Now with that said a part-time person will probably be less expensive but I can tell you from the stories I have heard it is worth paying for a full-time photographer especially if it is for a wedding or an event that can't be done over. Why? well here are afew questions to ask your photographer before you book them.

Do you have online ordering and proofing?
Do you have access to extras like wedding albums and frames and reprints?
How long have they been in business?

Do they have backup equipment?
Is the equipment professional equipment orstuff that can be bought at Bestbuy?
Will you get to meet your photographer personally before you book?
Will an unlimited amount of photos be taken the day of the wedding - event ?
Are they a full service editing photographer?
Is the photographer using a pro lab to print the photographs?
How long after the wedding - event can you purchase extras?
Are there travel charges to get the photographer to your wedding or event?
Will your wedding - event photographer sell you the files or negatives?
Will you get to see real wedding photo samples from start to finish or are they showing you only the best of the best?

A word of warning here...Do not hire a studio photographer to do a wedding - event. Studio photographers use the same light all day long and are not as quick on their feet as an event photograher. Things can happen the day of a wedding even thoughthey are planned out carefully. A studio photographer won't be ready for that. With that said, many event photographers do studio workjust ask how many events do they do in a year? This will help you figure out if they are really able to handle it for you.
