Ryer Martial Arts Academy provides the best martial arts, self defense, and fitness programs to Pittsburgh's East End communities.
We offer afterschool Youth Martial Arts programs for children three years of age and above. The Youth Martial Arts Programs teach a strong foundation in essential character qualities like courtesy, respect, and discipline. The programs are designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to focus and follow directions all the while they are learning how to defend themselves.

Along with our youth programs, we offer the absolute best selection of Adult Martial Arts programs. Students of our Adult Martial Arts Program can choose from instruction in several martial arts disciplines, including: the empty-hand martial art of American Kenpo Karate; the grappling-based martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; the integrated martial art of the Counterpoint Tactical System; and the Filipino-based martial art of Doce Pares Eskrima and Eskrido. Each of these curriculums teaches practitioners how to cope with situations logically and systemically; making them highly practical for any man or woman to learn and apply.

In addition to our martial arts programs, we offer several Fitness Programs that includes classes in Cardio Kickboxing and Pilates. Our renowned Cardio Kickboxing Program combines progressive strength and interval training with high intensity martial arts movements. While our Pilates Program delivers strength, increased flexibility, and an enhanced sense of balance. We also offer Personal Training and Nutritional Counseling by appointment. Finally to round off our Fitness Program, Ryer Martial Arts Academy is home to CrossFit Shadyside, a principle strength and conditioning program.
