Welcome: Are you looking to enrich your child's, and thereby your family's life through music? There is no better way than to have your child study the Suzuki method - or more precisely, to allow the Suzuki method to become part of your family life. It can be one of the most rewarding and positive experiences you will share with your child.
Our Mission The Reading Suzuki Music Academy strives to provide a positive environment that encourages musical excellence, a sense of community and a lifetime appreciation of music.
Our Program We offer instruction to students ages four and up in Cello, Piano and Violin.
Through a comprehensive program, individual and group classes are used to develop technique, musicianship, ensemble playing, parent training, music theory, sight-reading, and improvisation. All students have a private lesson each week as well as a group class every other week. Group classes and performances are generally held at The Women's Club Center for the Arts in downtown Reading.
Why Learn Music? According to research by the US Department of Education, children who study music do better in school and in life.* After just one year, young children who learned music showed brain changes and superior memory compared with children who did not receive musical instruction.** Qualities developed through musical instruction include: critical thinking, long term goals, perseverance, teamwork, concentration, self discipline, posture, confidence, leadership, and problem solving.
All of the above, and more...The Suzuki Method We believe every child can learn music to a high ability level, just as they learn language. In addition to the qualities listed above, the Suzuki method nurtures the whole child. Learning music is exciting and joyful within the Suzuki community and students develop an ongoing desire to learn.
