Hello, My name is Becky Ropp. I am a licensed professional counselor with a private practice office in Duncansville. I work primarily with adults with depression, anxiety and stress disorders. In general, I work with individuals who want to make a change in their life and need assistance to accomplish their goals.
My education and experience has helped me to develop a holistic view of counseling. I believe in an individualized approach to treatment in a caring compassionate environment. My focus is to empower the client to assist the individual to identify what they need to achieve a happier, more satisfying life and support them in reaching their goals. In order for this to occur, therapy must be a joint process between the therapist and the client. I will assist the client to identify supports both internally and externally and to develop coping skills in order for them to make healthy choices in their everyday life. I am aware that entering into a counseling relationship is a difficult decision and I commend the client for taking the initial step towards this process. For each step taken is one step closer to the final goal.
Treatment begins with an initial evaluation phase lasting 2-3 sessions. During this time, information about the client is gathered and specific treatment recommendations are discussed. A joint decision will be determined. Following this, therapy may proceed, focusing on treatment goals agreed upon between client and therapist. If therapy is not recommended (by the therapist or the client) a follow up plan will be determined. In some cases, treatment requires collaboration between several mental health and medical professionals to ensure optimal treatment effectiveness and client safety. In addition to the mental health therapist, this may include a primary care physician, psychiatrist, nutritionist, other specialized treatment provider or client support person.
Many insurances are being accepted and others are being added. Self-pay customers are always welcome. Client portion of the fee is due at the time of the service.
