All dogs want to "be good" and establish a best friend relationship with you but often they just don't know what is expected of them. They know when you are unhappy with them but are unsure of why. (You mean in other cultures people don't jump up in each others faces and drool all over one another to say Hello? They stand politely and shake hands? How very strange!)
