Welcome to our B&B and to the hospitality of the Amish countryside of Lancaster County and the Pequea Valley. Whether you come as a guest for a quiet evening’s stay and breakfast in the morning, or as a getaway guest for a full weekend of fun in your activities of quilting or crafts, the comfort and simplicity of our originally Amish house will please you.
At our inn, you can enjoy the comfort of our home and the tranquil pleasures of the surrounding countryside. We’ve had many compliments from our guests on the peace and quiet of an evening and the great sleep they’ve had. You can wake up to a full breakfast in the morning. It may be just breakfast to you, but to us it is an opportunity to serve full delicious meals and to serve them elegantly. You can walk our gardens or hike up the hill to the Amish farm and produce stand, or watch the penned deer along the way. In our "courting swing" you can curl up with a good book, snooze or just watch the farms below. The White Oak is perfectly located just minutes from all the attractions of Lancaster County, including antiques shops, craft markets, Amish Farms, Dutch Wonderland theme park, the Strasburg railroad, Sight & Sound and the Rockvale Outlets. There are many things to do and see in the Strasburg and Lancaster area. Rob & Carol will have information available and help you plan your time at the White Oak.
About the House:
Once an Amish farmhouse with "Grandfather House" attached, it has been renovated and offers guests all the comforts of an Inn, while providing plenty of genuine warmth and hospitality of home. The Bed and Breakfast is seated just under the second highest point in Lancaster county, giving its guests an unbelievably beautiful vista of the Amish farmlands. There are five rooms to choose from. Two rooms have double beds, two have queen-size beds, and one has a king-size bed. Each of the rooms has a private bath and there extra beds in the rooms to accommodate extra guests or children. The White Oak is large enough to accommodate small groups, and we are already hosting group getaways, retreats and seminars for quilting and crafts. We have even held weddings and receptions on the premises.

Before we had ever known about or been to a B&B, Rob was an insurance agent and Carol worked in a bank for many years. But our other interests have put us where we are today and have made our guests very happy to be here. Carol is a master in the kitchen. We have come to own the B&B since May of 2000. Much of the facilities were done before we came here, but we have re-worked all to give a guest the best in comfort, and to truly feel at home in Lancaster County

It seems that Quilting Getaways and Scrapbooking Retreats have become our most popular weekend events. Some quilt groups even come in the middle of the week or come early for the weekend and then stay later.

There is plenty of room for you to spread out, and nothing needs to be put away for the evening. In fact, if you wish, you could even stay up and sew through the night.

Please just call or email us about a date for your group. We will find some time for you. It would be our pleasure to have you here.
