Welcome to Eastern Pennsylvania Nephrology Associates.
Our practice was founded in 1969 by Dr. James Kintzel. It has grown into the largest Nephrology practice in the region.
We take a multifaceted approach to the care of patients with kidney disease. First we work to identify the underlying cause of your kidney problem and establish a treatment plan. We monitor for complications associated with kidney failure such as anemia and hypertension. If progressive kidney disease is anticipated, we begin early planning for dialysis as well as evaluation for possible kidney transplant.
Education is an important component of our relationship with our patients. We work closely with the local dialysis clinics and have a free Chronic Kidney Disease Options class offered monthly. We also utilize certified renal dieticians to assist with diet counseling.
We come to you. Many of our patients have multiple medical problems and have several physicians involved in their care. We try to make our appointments as convenient as possible. Our main office is located on the campus of Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. We also have satellite offices which may be closer to home and offer more convenient parking. If you are hospitalized, we still come to you. We are on staff at Good Shephard Long-Term Acute Care Hospital, Grandview Hospital, LehighValleyHospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, St. Lukes Allentown Hospital, and St. Lukes Quakertown Hospital.
We pride ourselves on providing the best care possible and have received numerous awards for quality. Our dialysis units have repeatedly won center of excellence awards and we are thrilled to see our program at LehighValleyHospital recognized as one of the nation's best.
