If you are just beginning your spiritual journey or have been on a long traveled path, we invite you to come and discover a liberal religion serving Lancaster County since 1902.

UUCL is a diverse religious community of over 600 adults and children. The following words, known as our Affirmation of Faith, that we say weekly in our worship service will give you an idea about our unique and liberating approach to religion:

Love is the spirit of this church, and service is its gift. This is our great covenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.

Worship services are held every Sunday morning in the church sanctuary—visitors are always welcome! During most of the school year we have two services each week, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. From mid-April through Labor Day, we offer a single service each Sunday, at 10:00 a.m. Worship services vary a bit from week to week, but they almost always include readings, a meditation, and a sermon, as well as a variety of live music, and frequently a story for all ages.
During the school year, Sunday School classes are held at 9:00 a.m. for preschool through 9th grade, and 10:45 a.m. for preschool through 12th grade, except for 8th grade that only meets at 9:00 a.m. Infant childcare is provided at both services. During the single summer service, there is childcare and educational programming for children nursery through 12th grade.
Plan to join us after each service for coffee hour, downstairs in Emerson Hall. In addition to coffee and snacks, there are always opportunities to learn more about our church and Unitarian Universalism, and to meet church members and friends.
Weather Delays and Cancellations
To find out if UUCL is closed on Sunday mornings, call the church office at 717-393-1733. The automated answering machine will notify you of any delays or cancellations. You can also tune to WGAL for snow updates. During the week, the church office follows the School District of Lancaster’s schedule for delays and cancellations. So, if the School District of Lancaster is on a two-hour delay, so is the office, and we will open at 11:30 a.m.
