The Inn at Twin Linden
If you are visiting Lancaster,PA and are looking for a B&B, look no further! Yes, it is in technically in Churchtown, but it is perfect...close enough to all the touristy stuff, but out of the way enough to enjoy quiet and tranquility and the occassional clip-clop of the horse drawn Amish buggies passing by outside your window.
As soon as you pull up to the property you know it is going to be special. It is an absolutely charming estate built as a wedding present for a bride back in the mid 1800s. Then you step inside where character abounds. The rooms are lovely, inviting & very comfortable. The decor is very classy, yet not at all stuffy. The food is without a doubt the BEST of any B&B we have ever stayed at in the past 15 years...and we have stayed at a lot of them! Lastly, but certainly not least, the owners are so sweet, kind, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make everything perfect for us...they pull out all the stops! Your experience is of utmost importance to them. We were only there 2 nights, but left there feeling like we had become friends with the innkeepers, Norm and Sue. When visiting Lancaster, you must stay in Churchtown...you must stay at The Inn at Twin Linden!

We stumbled across this supurb B&B by passing the door, what a find ! It is truely the gateway to Pennsylvania and Amish country, its deep warmth and quality of accomodation is complimented by a mind blowing breakfast. The relaxed style of management and attention to detail resets your city clock to a pace for a leasurely stay.

We just came back from a weekend trip to Dutch country and stayed at the "Inn at Twin Linden" and have such a hangover of our trip there. Oh, where do I start with everything that we enjoyed: Sue went out of her way to make Salmon for us on Saturday dinner as we do not eat beef, and then again on Breakfast she made us turkey and chicken sausages, just so we could have some meat too, like everything else; Norm's attentive service; their eagerness to make sure we had a comfortable stay.. everything was perfect.. right up to the whirlpool in our room....
We signed up for the Saturday dinner and are so glad we did. As Norm will tell you, there are 160 B&Bs in Lancaster county & only 2 serve dinner. The other one is a big establishment with some 18 rooms.
This is the place to be if you are a foodie. Our taste buds were tingled after our first breakfast & we could hardly wait for dinner. The Dinner was beyond all expectations and we knew breakfast next day was going to be amazing. Oh How I wish, I could just go there every now and then & just have the breakfast.
Norm's philosophy as he told us was: "People walk in through the door expecting to be happy.. and that's his goal.. and he is really helped by Sue's cooking. " You are the best out there folks!!

Stayed two nights at this great bed & breakfast last week which not only included outstanding accommodations but terrific husband and wife owners who were very friendly and gracious to my wife and myself. They provided many useful suggestions as to local attractions and noteworthy restaurants. However, the best part was the scrumptious breakfasts at the inn.

Warm, wonderful and welcoming... these are just a few of the adjectives we could use when describing The Inn at Twin Linden, and its lovely hosts, Sue and Norm. We arrived on what promised to be a cold and snowy holiday weekend in January. Norm was there to greet us and give us a quick tour. We were shown to the Easport Room, a commodious and comfortable room. (Don't be deterred by the description of "slanted ceilings" as they in no way detracted from the spaciousness of the room. ) The gas fireplace kept us warm and cozy the entire weekend, and although the winds blew and snow fell outside our window, it only added to the charm of the entire weekend. The Eastport Room faces the street, and waking up to the clip-clop of buggies each morning was a real treat.
We chose to dine at the Inn on Saturday night, and we were so glad we did. Each course, from the Tomato Bisque soup to the dessert of Italian Cream cake with lemon mousse was a taste sensation to the palate. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend bringing a bottle and making dinner a definate part of a stay at the Inn. Guests will not be disappointed.
We enjoyed all the amenities at the Inn, and since the weather turned snowy, we spent more time inside than we normally would during a weekend getaway. We made full use of all the goodies and beverages liberally placed thoughout the common rooms: brandy, hot cocoa, snacks and teas and coffee kept us toasty and satisfied. There was not one area of the Inn where we felt service was lacking; on the contrary, we felt our hosts truly went out of their way to make our short stay memorable. The Inn at Twin Linden has now been placed at the top of our favorite places to stay. We look forward to a return trip, perhaps in warmer weather when we can take full advantage of the lush surroundings skirting the Inn.
