Christian G. Derstine specializes in fine Country, Shaker and Early American reproduction furniture. Each piece has been individually handcrafted, featuring handplaned lumber, tapered or turned table legs, beaded frames and aprons, pegged mortise and tenon joinery and dovetailed drawer joints.
Standard designs include a variety of cupboards, tables, chairs, beds, entertainment centers and more. Working primarily in Pine, I also work with select hardwoods such as Oak, Cherry, Maple and Ash. All pieces are hand finished with either a natural oil stain, a distressed paint, or a combination of the two. All are then top-coated with a low gloss lacquer to add beauty and durability. Custom orders are both welcomed and encouraged. I will make every effort to work with my customers in creating a personalized, unique piece of furniture.
