We are excited to offer you a cardiovascular screening program at a very reasonable cost of $30. This test usually costs $150. The test is non-intrusive, only takes a few minutes and provides the results on the spot. Utilizing a technology called the Digital Pulsewave Analyzer (DPA) measures the arterial flexibility of your cardiovascular system. The DPA system is designed to detect potential underlying vascular disease. Healthy arteries are flexible and elastic - they expand and briefly store blood from each heartbeat thereby helping the heart move blood to all areas of your body. Unhealthy or diseased arteriesare often stiff or hardened - placing extra strain on the heart and artery wall, which can result in heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure and/or sudden death.
This quick test involves placing your index finger into a sensor device where light from LEDs is transmitted through the tissue. A photodiode detects the changes in the amount of light absorbed by hemoglobin. The DPA machine then interprets the results giving you 7 different measurements on your heart and cardiovascular system. These readings are similar to those of an electrocardiogram (EKG) and echocardiogram as well as pulse rate, pulse height/hydration, an aging measurement and a pulse waveform. This test will be performed by a Certified DPA technician from Entrenet Nutritionals.
